At Computex 2026, Vortex unveiled the new Race, a modern reinterpretation of its popular Race series. The 75% keyboard combines a compact layout with an innovative, wirelessly connectable Numpad that can be used both with the keyboard and completely independently. The connection between the main keyboard and the Numpad is wireless, allowing users to flexibly decide whether they want a compact 75% keyboard or a complete setup with a separate numeric keypad. This concept offers significantly more flexibility than traditional keyboards, especially for users who switch between gaming, office applications, and creative workflows.

Technically, the Vortex Race uses modern low-profile technology. It features hot-swappable Gateron Low Profile 3.0 switches, which can be replaced without soldering. The case has a high-quality CNC-milled aluminum base plate, while PBT dye-sub keycaps ensure durable legends. In addition to RGB lighting, the keyboard offers both wired operation and Bluetooth connectivity. Thanks to support for the popular ZMK firmware, key assignments, layers, and macros can be extensively customized. Furthermore, the Race will be available for Windows and macOS and offered in ANSI, ISO, and JIS layouts.

Vortex has not yet announced an official retail price. Currently, however, a price range of about 200 US dollars is expected. The market launch is planned for the coming months, and the Vortex Race will also be available via InputGear, according to current information. For fans of compact keyboards who do not want to permanently do without a numpad, the Race could be one of the most interesting new releases of the year – especially due to the unique combination of wireless modularity, low-profile design and extensive customizability.
