Owlab's Owlstab V2 stabilizers are high-quality screw-in stabilizers for mechanical keyboards, designed for minimal wobble, a secure fit, and excellent sound and typing feel. A key feature is the use of a shape-memory alloy ("Liquidmetal®") for the wires, which retain their shape exceptionally well, ensuring consistent performance. The kit includes all necessary components for assembly (housings, stems, wires, screws, washers, Teflon sheets, etc.). This makes it ideal for custom keyboard builds where key stability and acoustic refinement are paramount.

Technical specifications

• Mounting type: Screw-in mounting (stabilizer is screwed to the circuit board – PCB mounting)

• Variant(s): Kits for e.g. 80% and 100% layouts contain, for example, several housing units.

• Kit contents (example for 80% variant):

  • approx. 10 Housing + Stems

  • 4 pieces of 2u wire, 1 piece of 6.25u wire, 1 piece of 7u wire

  • Wire cushions (e.g. 6 pieces)

  • Teflon sheets (e.g. 12 pieces)

  • Screws and washers (e.g. 12)

• Wire material: Shape memory alloy (“Liquidmetal®”) – designed to retain its straight shape and allow minimal bending.

• Improvements compared to V1:

  • Smaller wire hole opening in the housing to reduce play (wobble) and pre-travel.

  • Narrower openings in the housing to reduce the chance of contact with dummy switch shafts

  • Improved clip-in mechanism for wire installation

• Colors: e.g. “Clear” and “Smoky (dark transparent)”

• Suitable layouts: 2u (e.g., modifiers), 6.25u (spacebar), 7u (large spacebar variants) depending on the kit

• Compatibility: Suitable for standard MX switch boards and PCBs; must support screw mounting.
